Hi, I’m Kiley Houck

And like many of you, I reached a point where I knew deep down that something had to give. My path to becoming a health and wellness coach has been anything but linear; and I’m grateful for every moment. Through the constant struggles, endless discoveries, and absolute liberation, I found myself tied to a singular mission: to help others find balance and peace within themselves, and let go of judgment and guilt we know all too well.

My Journey

Several years ago, I found myself at a crossroads. Weighed down by 65 pounds and burdened by a turbulent relationship with food, my days were a cycle of binge eating, battling diet culture, and fighting a constant war within myself. Food was both my comfort and my enemy, leading to nights spent in a cycle of guilt and discomfort, questioning my worth and my strength.

This struggle wasn't just about the weight; it was about what the weight represented. It was a manifestation of my battle with self-image, control, and the quest for a perfection that seemed always out of reach. My lowest points were not reflected by numbers on the scale, but by the awakening to the fact that my self-value had become deeply entwined with how I looked and my success in following strict dietary rules."

But, here's the thing: rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.

The Shift

My transformation didn't happen overnight. It was a gradual process of unlearning and relearning, letting go of harmful beliefs and embracing approach to balance, self-compassion, and mindfulness. I discovered the internal conversation I neglected for many years and learned how to listen to my body, to honor my hunger and fullness cues, and to find joy in movement, no longer seeing exercise as a form of punishment.

Today, I stand before you not just as someone who has lost weight and sustained it, but as someone who has gained immeasurable strength, confidence, and happiness. This transformation wasn't solely about shedding pounds; it was deeply rooted in a profound shift in mindset. By releasing the fear of weight gain and the fixation on numbers, I liberated myself from the constraints that once dictated my life. I learned to love all versions of my body, to indulge without guilt, and to live free from the obsession with calories and scales.

This valuable change in perspective, of viewing food as nourishment and pleasure, rather than a source of anxiety and shame, allowed me to sustain my weight loss and heal my relationship with food and ultimately, myself. Now, my pantry is always full, my heart is 10x fuller, and my identity is defined by much more than my physical appearance. It's this shift from fear to freedom that has been the key to not just keeping the weight off, but thriving in every sense of the word.

My Approach

One of the biggest misconceptions is the idea that food is just fuel and a simple equation of calories in, calories out. While many people believe eating is supposed to be hard and that ignoring hunger is a badge of willpower, I challenge this notion! I focus on educating my clients about the emotional side of their eating habits, helping them understand the dialogue between their body and brain with acceptance and compassion, rather than as a battle to be won. Through my content, live events, and 1:1 coaching sessions, I debunk myths and celebrate eating as an act of self-care, not self-control to show others how they can begin laying a foundation for life without food obsession.

Communicating with internal cues is like having a conversation with our body, allowing us to nurture a deeper connection with ourselves This awareness and welcoming can teach us to truly listen, recognizing signals as intimate messages from our body about our needs, emotions, and well-being because our relationship with food is more than just the energy it gives us. When we treat eating as a holistic wellness, where food is just one thread among many, including stress management, sleep hygiene, body movement, and emotional resilience is when we actually begin the healing process.

My approach to coaching aids my client’s shift from a focus on food to connecting with the person behind the plate. It's a in-depth, judgement-free approach that sees each client as a unique individual, not just a set of “bad” behaviors to be managed, creating a more positive and uplifting lifestyle. One of authentic wellness, where every aspect of health harmonizes, so we can learn how to dance to our own rhythm, rather than march to the beat of diet culture's drum.
